A Lifetime of Practice

Robert Beatty is a member of the first wave of Theravada Buddhist teachers who brought mindfulness from Asia in the 1970s. With over 50 years of Buddhist practice and decades of psychotherapy experience, Robert teaches what he calls "life-affirming Buddhism"—an approach that emphasizes engagement with life rather than escape from it.
In 1983 Robert was empowered to teach the Dharma by Ruth Denison.  Robert’s approach views emotions as teachers and relationships as curriculum. He authored "Mindfulness for a Happy Life" (⭐️ 4.9 on Amazon). He has taught more than 150 residential retreats and countless classes and workshops. He has built a dedicated community through his compassionate, accessible approach to ancient wisdom. He uses silence, dharma talks, humor, movement, music, poetry and drumming to teach meditation for everyday life. Robert is deeply engaged with life and is a husband, father, grandfather, poet, healer and musician.
Following the Buddhist dana tradition, Robert ensures that no one is turned away for lack of funds..
